Parent Exam Support

Dear Parents/ Carers,

as exam time draws near you may be struggling to try to find ways to support your child through this important stage in their life.

Below is a resource compiled by Mrs Graham (Head of Year 12) which is mainly aimed at GCSE pupils but there may be content which is applicable to all exam years.

We would encourage you to print this booklet out and use the revision timetables to help keep your child/ children focused.

We wish every student success in their upcoming exams!

Yr 9 Visit to Dungannon Court House

A group of Y9 pupils visited Dungannon Court House this week as part of their preparations for the Mock Magistrates Competition which will take place in March.

The group gained an insight into the layout of the court, and which courts are used for various types of cases! They even got to sit in the Magistrate’s chair and in the dock where the defendant sits – somewhere that they hope not to return to!

It was great fun, and each pupil left with some pointers to help them out for our competition.

Judge and Jury!

Guilty or not???

The whole truth and noting but the truth!

You can’t handle the truth!!!

Well Done Clara

Congratulations to Clara on being selected as a 2017 Broadcom MASTERS International delegate. Clara was successful in winning the Big Bang Show held in Belfast last year and will be one of 25 participants from 18 countries worldwide. Clara will travel to the United States in May for a week of exciting science, technology, engineering and math programming. The Broadcom MASTERS International Program takes place in conjunction with the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF), and will be held from May 14th to May 19th in Los Angeles, California.

We wish Clara every success in her endeavours and are sure she will make the most of this once in a lifetime experience.

True Colours Exhibition 2017

Below are some pictures taken today at the Ulster Museum, where Art students visited the True Colours exhibition. This year it featured work by two of our past pupils, Anna Byrne and Emma Corry.

Anna achieved first place in NI A2 Art & Design and Emma’s work was selected by the Art Society of Ulster, winning her a cash prize and an invitation to exhibit in the Society’s Annual Exhibition in June.

Well done to Mrs Quinn, Head of Art and all involved.

Well done Daniel

Using rice, pins, socks and wool to create these gorgeous little snowmen and Daniel has been out and about, selling them at local Craft fayres. They are absolutely beautifully made and they would make a lovely gift for anyone! Well done Daniel!
