St.Joseph’s competes in various soccer competitions in the Mid-Ulster Area. Soccer season begins in October and runs until the end of June.

In June 2013, St. Joseph’s secured the MUSA Under 12 Cup with a 3-1 victory against the Integrated College Dungannon. St.Joseph’s overcame a 1 goal deficit to secure victory in a hard fought final. Goals in the Final came from Ryan Cush, Jude Cunningham and Michael Owens. A special mention must go to Peter Cofalik and James McCann, who both showed tenacity and determination to insure victory.

On the Soccer front, St.Joseph’s has further reason to be proud. Past pupil Liam Donnelly has joined Barclays English Premiership side Fulham from IFA Premiership side Dungannon Swifts. Liam has been a stalwart in the defence of Fulham’s Under-18 League Winning team and despite his young age has made the Northern Ireland Under 21 National Team.

We wish Liam well in his exciting future with the top side and were delighted Liam found time to pop in and say hello on a recent visit home.

The annual St.Joseph’s Champions League Soccer Tournament takes place in the months February and March and creates a competitive buzz around school!

Congratulations to Bayern Munich Team Members: Jordan McNamee, Christopher McGuckin, Matthew McIlvenna, Colm Loughran and Conall Heagney who overcame a four goal deficit, to defeat a strong AC Milan side and clinch the 2013 St.Joseph’s Donaghmore Champions League Soccer title!
